Set up a live show including Real time translation with an interpreter
Want to extend the reach of your live videos? Think to the Real time translation with an interpreter!
Set up a live show including Real time translation with an interpreter will allow you to:
- Give your community the opportunity to understand the language in which your live event takes place even if they are not native speakers.
- Enable people with hearing loss to enjoy your live show.
- Internationalize your live more easily.
- Do a multi language event easily
To set up a live show including Real time translation with an interpreter, follow the steps bellow:
Create the source in original language
- Add a live source which embeds the original language.
- Add a remote capture input (remote commentator).
Set up the interpreter's video return
- Go to the remote guest settings
- Select a template with one asset.
- Select the input feed (the interpreter will receive the default PFL audio).
- If necessary, disable the interpreter's video return.
- Apply the changes.
Configure the audio levels
- In the Audio Mixer (1).
- Add one audio output bus per output language (2).
- Here we'll use 2 output bus, P1 for original language + P2 for the translated one.
- If you want you can force the interpreter audio to go out in the program by clicking on (3).
- Assign the translator output to P2 (3).
- Assign the live source audio to P1 & P2 (4).
Your event is ready, you can start the test phase and check that everything is fine.
Multi language/interpreter workflow
If you want to do a multi language live event please repeat the last steps and assign each interpreter audio return to a specific audio output bus.
You can now publish multiple output bus/languages per publishing destination, depending on if they're supporting multi audio tracks and/or publish each output bus individually to a predefined social media language page.
Go Further:
- My guest has a professional audio setup and I want to be able to set his audio parameters manually (echo cancellation, noise cancellation...)
- Create a mix minus for my remote guest/commentator
